The Lion of Judah

This painting depicts Jesus as both the Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah. He is the fire, the holy Lord of righteousness; He will baptize us with the Spirit and the fire, He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
I was moved by the Holy Spirit to draw a lion and fire around it as the theme of this painting to depict the glory of God and His Presence surrounded by His four living creatures as revealed in the book of Ezekiel chapter 1, and in the words of the elder in the book of Revelation “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” (Revelation 5:5 NIV)
“And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb: “Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the ages. Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” (Revelation 15:2-4, NIV)
My husband and I worshiped the Lord during our composition of this artwork. Our hearts were deeply moved by this image of the Lion of Judah and the fire. We know we are very limited in our abilities, and we would never fully comprehend nor accurately capture God’s marvelous revelation on canvas. Nevertheless, we continue to feel inspired to reflect what we see in our spirits through His divine gift of art, and we hope that through it, we might all draw closer to Him.
