Overlooking Bethlehem from Mt. Olive
In 2012, there were many days in which Israel faced the threat of war. In those days of distress, the Lord raised up many intercessors to pray fervently for Israel day and night. On July 28th the church had been praying unceasingly for Israel, as the Lord had greatly burdened them for the land, causing them to faithfully persist in being watchmen on the wall for Israel. The morning I visited them, I was praying for Israel with the pastor’s wife and another prayer warrior. As soon as the pastor’s wife began to play Israel’s national anthem, the Holy Spirit moved me to place my hands on the map of Israel. As I did so, I saw in my spirit many rocket missiles being fired into the land of Israel, and suddenly a huge fireball fell upon Jerusalem. As I saw this I could not help but begin to weep. I cried out to the Lord, “What should I do, Lord Jesus? Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray for Israel!” I heard the Holy Spirit reply, “Quickly begin to declare the promises of God toward Israel.” I began to declare all the verses I could remember, “He who keeps watch over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps,” “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord watches over His people,” “His anger lasts only for a moment, but his favour lasts for a lifetime,” “The mountains may be shaken, and the hills be removed, but the Lord’s loving-kindness will never leave Israel, the Lord’s covenant of peace will never be moved,” and “the Lord loves you with an everlasting love!”
After I declared these promises of God for Israel, the Holy Spirit caused me to continue praying in tongues. I believe that day marked an intense battle in the heavenly realm. Victory belongs to the Lord, our Commander in Chief!
On my return to Canada, the Spirit reminded me of when I was on the Mount of Olives in March, 2009. At that time I saw myriads of angels surrounding the atmosphere of the Mount of Olives. The Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and I looked toward Jerusalem and began to travail. The Spirit instructed me to take pictures of what I could see from the mountain in the north, in the south, in the east and in the west. He said, He loves Israel, and He loves Jerusalem. He wanted me to pray for the land He loves, and to sketch down what He showed me in my notes. As I sketched the Sea of Galilee as I was instructed, I fell into a trance. In the trance, I saw the shadow of the Lord. The clouds, the water, and every stone were just the same as it was in the time of Jesus – nothing had changed. Unfortunately, because I was with a team and time was limited, I eventually had to leave Galilee. I love Galilee so much! I desire to show my love for this land with all of my heart and emotion. Dear Lord, I long to return to Israel, to once again encounter you on the shores of Galilee.
