The wind of the Holy Spirit
In 1999, God gave me the vision of taking the gospel back to Israel and has moved me to continuously pray for this commission ever since.
As I read the books of Isaiah and Ezekiel in July 2009, I was moved again by God’s unchanging love and care for Israel. The scenes of these two books appeared before my eyes like a mighty river flowing through history. I prayed to God and asked for inspiration as to how I could use artwork to reflect the heartfelt condition of God towards Israel.
One day God reassured me through the words of a pastor, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” I believe God was encouraging me to pursue what was in my heart to depict what was in God’s heart through art.
This painting has three eagles, each representing one generation of people – seniors, middle-aged and young people. Each eagle depicts the respective generation’s character of courage and spirit of perseverance.
Under the guidance of the pillars of cloud and fire, from the Great Wall of China to David’s Holy Temple in Jerusalem, God guides the Chinese people to fulfill the commission entrusted to them by God.
A number of beloved brothers and sisters and my husband participated in this work by praying for me and singing beautiful hymns while I was painting. As they sang “A Gospel Preaching China,” I felt my hand being guided by God, and it took me no time to finish this artwork.
“I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up. See, they will come from afar – some from the north, some from the west, some from the region of Aswan.”( Isaiah 49:11-12, NIV)
“Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, “ This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’’ ( Ezekiel 37:9, NIV )
